They will pick us up from our lodging and then we will start our trip to the city of Lima, in which tour we will visit the most relevant attractions of the capital of Peru.
Our tour begins with a panoramic visit to the Huaca Puccllana, a large archaeological complex built over 1500 years ago. Then we go to the Historic Center of Lima crossing the Paseo de la República. In this place we will walk on foot the famous Plaza San Martín and then the historic Plaza Mayor, place in which the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro founded the city of Lima in 1535, with the name of The City of the Kings.
In this area we will witness the architecture of that era of colonial boom, we will appreciate beautiful balconies and colonial-style mansions. Here we can also appreciate the Government Palace, the Municipality of Lima, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace.
Later we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, a great architectural work built in the 17th century. During our visit we will appreciate the cloisters and its impressive library. Our visit in this place will culminate with a tour of the underground galleries or catacombs, the main cemetery of the colonial era that even today shows a Gregorian atmosphere.
Then they will take us to a tourist restaurant where we can taste the traditional Peruvian food, accompanied by a horse show toned by the sailor.
After lunch we will continue with our visit to the great oracle of Pachacamac, an imposing sanctuary built approximately 1800 years ago and worshiped by different cultures until the last days of the Inca apogee. The Sanctuary of Pachacamac is located south of Lima, about 40 minutes by bus. According to many archaeologists and historians, the Sanctuary was the seat of the most important deity on the coast of Peru, a large pilgrimage center attended by men from almost every corner of these lands, to present their best offerings and consult the oracle what they It held the future.
We will start our walking tour through the most relevant sectors of this great Shrine. Among the points to visit, the pyramid-shaped temples stand out, whose steps and ramps will lead us to the top of the sanctuary, from where you can have a beautiful view of the Lurin Valley and the Pacific Ocean.
Then we will go to a large enclosure known as the Temple of the Sun, built on four trapezoidal platforms, which form a large truncated pyramid. This enclosure is attributed to the time in which the Incas expanded along the coast, since the Andean style can be clearly seen in their architecture. Here we can also observe the gigantic pilgrims' square and the beautiful enclosure of the Acllas or precincts of the chosen Women, dedicated to the service of the temples and the preparation of fine fabrics for the nobility.
Finally we will visit the Pachacamac site museum, which exhibits in its main hall remains of the artistic expressions of the different occupants of Pachacamac, such as ceramics, textiles and a beautiful carving, which is believed to represent the divine image of the god Pachacamac.
Finally we will return to Lima, bordering the Pacific coast, appreciating during the tour beautiful landscapes of our Peruvian coast.
